Most wooden boards can be used for serving on any occasion. Combining a warm natural look with strong and rigid construction, wooden serving boards are often used in commercial settings and are ideal for cafes, restaurants, wine bars and pubs. Using an attractive wooden board as a centrepiece attraction for serving a cheese platter, cold meats or antipasto adds style and sophistication to your table.
At Wild Wood we love the natural look and feel of wood, and we are very environmentally aware, so when we were designing serving platters it was a natural progression for us to use wood as our raw material. Acacia wood was a perfect fit because the grain has rich, vivid hues and a natural resilience to water, with proven antibacterial properties. All our serving boards have a distinct design element borne out of beautiful quality, stylish design and practicality.
Many of our paddle boards are designed as very smart serving boards, these wood paddles are great for serving everything from cheese to tapas, and they can make your home-made pizzas look even more inviting.
Once we had developed our first serving board we couldn’t stop, and now we have a broad range of serving boards for you to choose from. And our boards will continue to improve with age and will still look great when you hand them onto your children.

After use, Hand Wash in warm soapy water, then it is best to dry your board in a dish rack or pat it dry. Do not leave your board to dry in the sun as the intense heat caused by the sun could warp your board. Do not soak your board in water, and you should never place it in the dishwasher.
Depending on how often you use your board, we would recommend oiling it regularly, about every second month. The best guide is when your board is looking pale, or dry, then it needs conditioning (oiling). Using a paper towel, apply a coat of vegetable oil to the board. Wipe off the excess oil and let the rest soak into your board over approx. 15-20 minutes. Then your board should be looking like new.
Wooden boards are the best boards to use for any cutting, chopping or carving of food in your home. Wooden boards are kind to your knives, last a long time, and look great. They are easy to clean and maintain, and look better as they age. Wood is an eco-friendly material and this is an important thing to consider when purchasing a new board. Importantly wooden boards contain natural anti-bacterial properties ensuring they are safer than any other material.
